Dennis Anthony Kapurelos, Jr. was a husband, son, friend, champion, and fighter.
On January 2nd, 2018, Denny lost his lifelong battle from cancer and its after effects, due to complications from a heart transplant.
Denny was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma at the age of 18 years old.
His survival rate at the time was extremely low. Denny fought with everything he had to beat the odds.
Doctors informed the family that Denny's treatment had risks and side effects that could become problematic later in life. At the time the only thing that mattered was saving Denny's life. Within one year, he was in remission.
Fourteen years later, the side effects from his childhood treatment reared their ugly head. Denny became ill with complications we could never have imagined.
My name is Shawn Kapurelos, the wife of Dennis Anthony Kapurelos, Jr. and I miss him ever day. I will be forever grateful for the time I had to bask in his sunshine and feel his zest for life.
